Nokia 3120 Classic

Recently, Nokia have started to recycle product names. First came the Nokia 2600 Classic, and now there's the Nokia 3120 Classic which shares its model number with a cheap colour phone from 2004. As you might guess from the 3120 model number, this is going to be a pretty inexpensive device
, but it is worlds apart from the earlier 3120 handset. Nokia have given this handset a fairly low-key launch, which is surprising.

Nokia N95

Do you like Nokia’s N95? How about a Nokia  N95 clone? The E-PDA V16, from China, looks like the N95 but it is not a slider as N95 do. Compare to the N95, the E-PDA V16 is bigger in size while the screen size is also bigger.

E-PDA V16 has a 3-inch QVGA LCD touch screen, a 3 Megapixel camera, and Bluetooth connectivity. It supports also hand-writing recognition, and dual sim cards. Come on, don’t expect the device to have WiFi as N95 do. The E-PDA V16 does support microSD memory cards. As the other ‘PDA phones’ from China, the V16 supports music and video playback.

Though the price of E-PDA V16 is 1/3 of N95′s price, it’s functions and features are really acceptable. More pictures after the jump.

Nokia Oviapplications

There has been a lot of speculation in recent weeks about the future of Nokia phones and Symbian OS. Many insiders believe that Nokia has missed number of trends in the last few years and it will be hard for them to catch up. A recent study done by Generator Research  suggests that iPhone could surpass Nokia as the smart phone leader by 2013. The report predicts that Nokia will see its market share cut in half to just 20 percent by 2013 and names the rapid increase of the applications available for iPhone and price drop of 3G model to $99 as primary reasons for this.

This morning Wired magazine also published an article about why American consumers stay away from Nokia phones. This report is particularly interesting to me because in my previous job, I worked for one of the largest Mobile carriers in the US and I was part of Nokia’s “Retail Evangelist” team and we used to sit in focus groups and talk about this very specific issue and how Nokia can improve its market share in the US.

Nokia Aeon

The Nokia Aeon has a similar design to the Synaptics Onyx. The concept phone will feature a full surface touch screen display that replaces the traditional keypad. Its unique design gives this concept phone an extremely sleek and sexy look. Nokia should use some perfected material that doesn’t leave fingerprints on Aeon’s touch screen display; otherwise, you will probably spend half your time wiping it.
